President: Carolle Roy (PhD. Student)
Carolle works as an instructional designer at the Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface (CUSB), Carolle Roy was in charge of the CUSB's Internet Communications Services from 1998 to 2007. Her duties included the coordination and standardization of the activities and pages of the official CUSB website, as well as the development and implementation of Internet courses.
Carolle Roy holds a Master's degree in Sociology, a postgraduate diploma in Development of Multimedia Distance Education Training a postgraduate program in Information Technologies and Learning Environments at Téluq.

Vice President: Iwona Gniadek
Iwona has been the Lead of Learner Services for English Online Inc. since May 2009 and is working on developing, implementing and supporting an online learner support system for self-directed learners. It is a huge undertaking but she enjoys feeling a part of a new, exciting and different initiative to support adult EAL learners in Manitoba.
Before coming to English Online she taught EAL for the Portage Learning and Literacy Centre in Portage La Prairie. She also has international teaching experience in Poland and the United Kingdom (UK). In the UK, she gained experience in facilitating Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in a blended model of delivery and support (i.e. face-2-face and online).
She holds an M.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language from the University of Warsaw and is currently involved in instructional design projects in the EAL field.

Past President : Darlene Frederickson
Darlene was the President of MADLaT from 2008 to 2010. She had taken a new position as Instructor/Curriculum Specialist with the Division of Continuing Education at the University of Winnipeg . She has been with the University for 33 years, the last 17 as the Director of the Centre for Distributed/Distance Learning. In both positions, Darlene has/will have responsibilities for alternative education and non-traditional students.
Darlene has studied as a non-traditional student herself, completing both a BA (Philosophy) (UW) and an MA (Integrated Studies) (AU) (June 2005) as a mature student, as well as the UW Certificate in Management Studies. The Masters work was exclusively on-line. Her research interests are the institutional governance issues around and the legitimacy of alternative education.
Darlene served two 3-year terms as the elected staff representative in the UW Board of Regents. She has also served one term on the MADLaT Board as Secretary.

Treasurer: Patrick Stoddart
Patrick Stoddart is Dean of Academic Services and Registrar at Assiniboine Community College in Brandon Manitoba. As such he provides strategic and operational leadership to the College's departments of Admissions and Registrations, Computer Services, and Student Services. Additionnally, during teh first two years of his tenure, he led ACC's centralized Distance Education Services, with responsability for design, development, deployment, and support for Distance Education offering at the college. He represents the college on Manitoba's Post Secondary Education Council on Learning Yechnologies (PSCELT). He has a keen interest in the integration of technology across the curriculum, as well as best practicies in structural arrangments required to enhance learning at a distance. He holds a B.A. in History from the University of New Brunswick, a B. Ed. from McGill, and a M.A. in Educational Technology from Concordia. |

Claudius Soodeen
Claudius is a distance learning professional in the Manitoba post-secondary sector having 25 years experience with media and educational technology and training. He has been a member of MADLaT since its inception in 2001.
As instructional designer at Red River College since 2010, his duties inclde development of online Apprenticeship and Professional/Diploma courses at RRC and faculty development/training.
Prior to working at RRC, he spent 17 years in the Centre for Distributed/Distance Learning at University of Winnipeg, latterly as the Assistant Manager (University of Winnipeg Instructional Network) and WebCT Administrator. His responsabilities included supervision of the Telecourse/Video-On-Demand production staff and facilities, LMS administration and faculty support, training & development.

Director-at-Large: Ghislaine Alleyene
Ghislaine Alleyene is the Learning Managment System (LMS) Administrator for the University of Winnipeg where she teaches and supports faculty in the use of the university's LMS. She has over 10 years experience in the Information Technology sector with everything from help desk support, website development and technocal writing, to managing the information systems program of a national non-profit organisation. In addition to her Bachelor of Arts degree and Interactive Multimadia Applications Specialist diploma, she holds a Master's Certificate in Project Managment and is looking forward to working on exciting new projects in education and technology.
