The Magic of Learning Together
Join in an engaging evening of learning through
magic!
We start the evening with our traditional, and exceptional, Wine and
Cheese – a favorite event at past MADLaT conferences – catered by the
University Club. Don’t eat dinner beforehand – there will be plenty of
great food available – and a glass of wine!
Afterwards, to help everyone get to know each other a little better (and
to learn something new in the process!) participants will be taken on a
magical “learning” ride with Ken Bellemare, of Communication Magic. The
evening includes:
- Magic, the Senses and Learning
– you will experience how the senses can aid or complicate learning.
In this highly interactive and engaging activity you will experience
how the senses can play tricks on us and what this means for learning.
Be prepared to have your perceptions challenged!
- Each Teach – in this activity
the group will experience interactive learning together. Selected
“magicians” will be trained to teach an “easy-to-learn” magic trick to
a group of people. Once the small groups have learned the trick they
will move throughout the room to teach each of the other groups.
Expect to be involved with a lot of interactive teaching and learning
– and to take what you have learned with you to thrill - and impress -
your friends!
- Tricks and Learning -
Following “Each Teach”, representatives from the various “trick
groups” will demonstrate their tricks and identify how they can be
applied to learning. Afterwards, a full group debrief will identify
how what was learned can be applied in everyday practice.
Come and join us for a great evening
of:
- meeting new people,
- enjoying great food,
- learning a little bit of magic
and
- getting geared up for the new
learning experiences to be encountered throughout the rest of the
conference schedule!
Looking forward to seeing you
there!
