Overview of eSkewl.com
Session Description:
The presenters will demonstrate eSkewl.com, a new school-to-home,
web-based portal from Jasmine Technologies that can benefit your school.
Built from the latest web technologies (including AJAX), eSkewl.com
allows administrators, teachers, students, and parents to communicate
and collaborate in a secure and effective manner. Educators can use
eSkewl.com to offer students private assistance, post homework and
files, collect homework online, reach students between and after
classes, and much more.
Terrence D. Elliott, CEO, Jasmine
Technologies
Terrence
D. Elliott has a strong background in management of information systems
and electronic engineering, as well as a solid mix of business
development and Internet engineering skills. As the lead team member of
the U.S. Navy's HAZMAT control system, he led the technology consulting
practice, working closely with vendors and foreign nationals. His
leadership was responsible for the implementation of wide-ranging
software systems, and he was acknowledged for accomplishing this “under
budget and ahead of schedule.” Charged with developing a control system
for an overseas airbase, he managed high-profile online development
projects within the U.S. airbase in Japan.
Adil Lalani, Director Web Services, Jasmine Technologies
Adil
Lalani is a Systems Design Engineering student at the University of
Waterloo and is also the Director of Web Services for Jasmine
Technologies. His knowledge and experience with online learning,
communication, and collaboration systems and services is very extensive.
For a long-term high school project, Adil entirely designed and
developed
SurfYourWork.com, an online school management system that is
currently being used by over 450 schools across the world.
James Ming, Jasmine Technologies
James
Ming has worked extensively with US schools in streaming-lining their
process in meeting the US mandated No Child Left Behind act. He has
developed Learning Management programs, such as Letter Grade (www.lettergrade.com),
to help teachers easily align instructions and assessments directly to
state standards. His core competency is translating user requirements
into web functionality.
