Cutting Edge Solutions: An Overview of eSkewl.com

Session Description:

The presenters will demonstrate eSkewl.com, a new school-to-home, web-based portal from Jasmine Technologies that can benefit your school. Built from the latest web technologies (including AJAX), eSkewl.com allows administrators, teachers, students, and parents to communicate and collaborate in a secure and effective manner. Educators can use eSkewl.com to offer students private assistance, post homework and files, collect homework online, reach students between and after classes, and much more.

Terrence D. Elliott, CEO, Jasmine Technologies

Terrence D. Elliott has a strong background in management of information systems and electronic engineering, as well as a solid mix of business development and Internet engineering skills. As the lead team member of the U.S. Navy's HAZMAT control system, he led the technology consulting practice, working closely with vendors and foreign nationals. His leadership was responsible for the implementation of wide-ranging software systems, and he was acknowledged for accomplishing this “under budget and ahead of schedule.” Charged with developing a control system for an overseas airbase, he managed high-profile online development projects within the U.S. airbase in Japan.

Adil Lalani, Director Web Services, Jasmine Technologies

Adil Lalani is a Systems Design Engineering student at the University of Waterloo and is also the Director of Web Services for Jasmine Technologies. His knowledge and experience with online learning, communication, and collaboration systems and services is very extensive. For a long-term high school project, Adil entirely designed and developed SurfYourWork.com, an online school management system that is currently being used by over 450 schools across the world.

James Ming, Jasmine Technologies

He has developed Learning Management programs, such as Letter Grade (www.lettergrade.com), to help teachers easily align instructions and assessments directly to state standards.
