Using Video Conferencing as a Means of Teaching

Session Description:

In this session, I will describe the successes and challenges of teaching and learning by video conferencing. I will speak briefly about setting up videoconferencing links to connect with other schools. I also will discuss how I am using this as format of teaching in my classes, reflecting my experience teaching Mathématiques 10F, la Géographie 20F, and Pré-Calcul 30S en français. Time will be provided for question-and-answers.

Presenter: Ardena Shipp

Ardena Shipp is a teacher at Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School. She has ten years classroom experience, having also taught at Birtle Collegiate and Goose Lake High. Anita has been teaching video-conferencing courses for the past three years to students in Dauphin, The Pas, and Flin Flon It is a means of offering French-immersion in schools where the enrollment is not high enough to offer courses at each individual school.
