Uncertain Paths: Technologies and Models of Learning for
Tomorrow (note - 90 minutes session continued in 2 parts )
Session Description:
After a decade of innovation in
education – Learning Management Systems, blogs, wikis, open
education resources, social networking, eportfolios, personal
learning environments, alternative pedagogies, and more – most
educators are reeling. How do we adopt or adapt these new
technologies to our practice? This session will provide an
opportunity for participants to explore the implications of
recent developments in technology, society, and educational
policy, and explore the likely nature of the next wave of
change.
Presenters:
George Siemens, Peter Tittenberger

George Siemens is the Associate
Director – R & D, Learning Technologies Centre at University of
Manitoba. His work as a writer, blogger, keynote speaker, and
theorist has been acknowledged as visionary and
forward-thinking. He actively maintains elearnspace.org,
connectivism.ca, knowingknowledge.com, and ltc.umanitoba.ca/wordpress
blogs.
Peter Tittenberger is Director
of the University of Manitoba's Learning Technologies Centre and
has led the centre from its inception in 2005. Previously, Peter
worked at the University of Manitoba in University Teaching
Services and Information Services and Technology. Before coming
to the U of M, Peter worked in the Media Department at the
University of Winnipeg for 20 years. A graduate of the
University of Manitoba, he holds a Post Graduate Certificate in
Distributed Learning from the University of British Columbia.
