Workshop 7
eLearning Comes
Together
Title: A Framework for
Pedagogical Models in eLearning with Hands-On Exploration
Session Type: 180 minutes
Workshop Description:
Abstract: eLearning is
achieving rapid adoption rates in the education and business
sectors. Experience with a broad range of educators demonstrates
the need to establish clear pedagogical models for elearning.
Interestingly, a considerable body of recent research is in
existence, yet we continue to struggle in the practice of
eLearning. This presentation proposes an approach to
establishing working models for ePedagogy and draws on the works
of Jara and Mohamad (2007) on Pedagogical Templates for
eLearning, Anderson(2004) Toward a Theory of Online Learning,
Ally (2004) on Foundations of Educational Theory for Online
Learning, Fahy(2004), - Media Characteristics and Online
Learning Technology and several other recent works in this area.
Following the presentation and discussion segments, participants
will have an opportunity to explore cutting edge eLearning
technology provided by Desire2Learn. Through hands-on
interaction scripted for specific pedagogies, participants will
be able to experience several models and will achieve a sound
grasp of what is possible with eLearning technology.
