Title: Agile Project
Management for E-Learning Projects
Session
Description:
This session examines how Scrum
project management techniques can be applied to e-Learning
projects. Scrum is rapidly becoming the project management
methodology of choice in software development for projects with
rapidly changing requirements. In contrast to classical project
management, which takes a predefined approach to managing
problems, Scrum employs an empirical, pattern based approach
with a focus short sprints, chaos control and self-organizing
teams. Topics to be explored in this presentation include:
- The unique nature of
e-Learning projects, particularly their nature of dependency
and concurrency
- Why classical project
management techniques are not well suited to e-Learning
- An overview of Scrum, its
history, and current use
- How to apply Scrum to
e-Learning projects
- Tools available to assist in
Scrum projects
Once the basics of Scrum are
covered, the presentation style will be primarily case study
based. An examination of Scrum using real-world e-Learning
examples will demonstrate workflow, benefits, and application.
