Workshop 14

Title: A Professional Learning Network?? Who needs one? How do you get one if you want one?

Workshop Description:

Learning has always been an intensely social activity starting from the very first time we entered a classroom. The availability of social networking technologies means learning is no longer constrained by place and time. With just a few clicks of the mouse, it’s easy to learn from peers and experts in areas that capture your interests and passions. This half day workshop will help participants gain hands-on experience using a variety of free online applications to construct and cultivate their own personal learning network

Presenter: John Evans

John Evans is currently the Professional Learning Consultant with Manitoba Education Citizenship and Youth. He has been an educator in Manitoba for over 30 years serving in the capacities of classroom teacher, technology leader and principal. John is passionate about the infusion of technology in all areas of the curricula. He believes that the combination of good pedagogy with current technologies can create an empowering learning environment for both the student and teacher.
