Workshop Description:

W - What is a team?
E – Engaging learners on-line or face-to-face
I – Interaction and Learning
T – Team members’ skills inventory

This interactive workshop will explore the effectiveness of working-in teams ands with teams. Often a neglected component of online learning teams can increase the pool of resources and talent available to all online participants.

Through exploring face-to-face team work activities participants will identify ways to adapt these to a variety of distributed learning environments.

If you attended one of Ken Bellemare’s sessions last year you know you will come away with many new ideas to engage learners and to help them learn in an interactive way. You’ll even learn a magic trick or two.

Presenter: Ken Bellemare, Communication Magic

Ken is a trainer, facilitator, speaker and coach who is dedicated to eliminating boring teaching. With over 30 years as a teacher, adult educator and coach he has sought out “best practices” to help learners to learn more effectively in an interactive environment. Through the use of magic, improve, storytelling, lecture games and interactive PowerPoint he challenges traditional education methodologies.

He explores self-reflection, managing learners’ attention, debriefing and unusual association for learning retention.

He has spent fifteen years in university environments as a lecturer and intercollegiate sport coach. He facilitates three learning workshops with the CACE programs at the University of Manitoba and the University of Victoria. He has been a training manager for two tourism education councils in New Brunswick and British Columbia and a master trainer for the National Coaching Certification Program for sport coaches. He is co-author of 101 Quick, Action-Based Learning Activities for Speakers, Trainers and Teachers.
