Workshop 8
“Me and
IT???” How instructors and subject matter experts can create
well-designed e-learning content
Workshop Description:
This hands-on workshop will walk participants through how to create
well-designed e-learning content when e-learning development team
expertise is not available. This workshop is for people who are being
challenged to put course materials online but who do not have the
technical skills required to create the necessary html documents. The
goal of the workshop is to put the design, development and revision of
e-learning content into the hands of the instructors and subject matter
experts.
The following topics will be addressed:
-
The adoption cycle of technology in learning.
-
Common web design mistakes made in e-learning content
creation.
-
Creating well designed e-learning content using
PowerPoint.
-
How to optimize PowerPoint e-learning for delivery in
an LMS, using Impatica.
-
How to revise materials once created.
-
Things to watch out for when using this
design/development method.
This workshop an excellent companion to the morning
workshop “Winning Guidelines and Practices for Using Instructional Media
in eLearning” which discusses practical guidelines and methods for
integrating purposeful instructional video and other visuals into your
elearning. In combination (or separately!), the two workshops will give
the learner practical skills for selecting and creating good quality
e-learning materials.
