Workshop 3
Learn How to
Geocache
Workshop Description:
Find out how to get your
students started in this fun and exciting sport which can be
integrated as a learning tool in many courses. Participants will
learn the basics of using a GPS device, including how these
units read information transmitted from satellites, and the
importance of GPS technology for safety purposes. Learn to
create a geocache treasure hunt. Bring something of interest to
you that you can cache as part of this session (e.g. coins from
your home country, a copy of your favourite CD or recipe).
Hand-held GPS units will be provided for use. Part of this
workshop will be held outdoors, so dress for the weather. For
